About: Free Stuff For Startups is a marketing platform and directory service focused on introducing core business tools and professional services to company founders at the dawn of their ventures.

Target Profile: Established vendors of growth enabling / supporting technology or professional services wishing to promote themselves to early stage companies to establish incumbent supplier status with emerging enterprises

Abstract: Every month in the UK around 50,000 new companies are registered with Companies House. All these companies are likely to need basic business tools and localised professional services. Identifying them is relatively easy, however very few include email or web site information on their Companies House profiles so communicating with them is difficult and expensive. ( Postal contact details are the only ones required by CH)

The cash-flow constraints of a pre-revenue business reward the vendors and service providers that are prepared to invest in the significant long term advantages of becoming the incumbent provider via free or deferred cost promotions.

The model has similarities with the Bounty Packs distributed to new parents. A carefully collated and curated selection of free samples of products for newborn babies is provided via hospitals and midwife services that introduce brands to their target customers at precisely the point where their target audience is evaluating and establishing a brand preference.

FSFS is being launched as a web directory and transactional platform where directors of new companies are guided through a balanced portfolio of the tools and services relevant to the nature of their business and stage of growth with the common denominator being that ongoing business value is provided without charge ( Thus excluding time limited free trials but including the free features of a Freemium model )

Invitations to the site will be promoted by post to the lead director / company secretary of qualifying companies* within a month of their registration with Companies House. Registration and marketing permission will be required to access the offers including email and phone to facilitate timely promotions for ongoing key stages of a company's life-cycle. ( eg Accountancy services reminder approaching the 1 year anniversary etc)

Call for expressions of interest: Via TIAS, we are inviting enquiries from product or service providers that appreciate the value of establishing incumbent supplier status at greenfield sites and  have, or are prepared to offer, a suitable zero cost promotion to this specific B2B demographic.

*Beta Parameters: The beta stage will be rolled out by location based upon county. Starting with Berkshire, as it represents an average county with around 10,000 new business registrations PA. We will use the data collected to determine and refine the criteria for * Qualifying companies to exclude business models that are not growth focused and unlikely to result in them eventually requiring the premium services provided by our supplier partners.

Interesting Facts: New business registration have been rising year on year recently with over 670,000 companies being registered in England in 2020 ( despite, or maybe because of Covid19 restrictions). Greater London accounted for 38% of these at 260,000, with an average county being host to roughly 10,000, but ranging between 2000 and over 35,000 for the Northern Powerhouse counties of Greater Manchester and North Yorkshire.

if you wished to post a 2nd class letter to introduce yourself to every newly registered business in England it would cost you over £435,000 at standard postage rates. By joining forces with complimentary vendors and service providers Free Stuff For Startups allows specialist, local agencies to promote county specific services from as little as £50/month.
